What Is Bar Replay?
Bar replay is a backtesting feature that hides future price and lets you step through a historical chart one bar at a time, as if the market were unfolding live. You pick a past date, the chart loads up to that point, and everything to the right is hidden until you advance it. It is the simplest, most visual way to test a discretionary trading strategy.
This site explains how bar replay works, how it compares to tick-by-tick chart replay, the limits of TradingView's Bar Replay, and the free bar replay tools worth trying. For hands-on practice we point you to StrategyTune, a free browser tool that does both bar-by-bar and tick-by-tick replay.
